go to a performance
On Dec.19th, there was a performance named 'The Taming of the Shrew' in the school hall. I was a volunteer of the performance. My work is to check the tickets of the students, the teachers and the parents. I just need to cut a part of them tickets. Because of I am a volunteer, i have no ticket of the performance. I went in to de hall after the performance had started for a few time.
The story was written by William Shakespeare and it is about a crazy woman and her husband. The woman named Kate. Kate hadno choice but marry with the man. Her characteristics are very bad. She always shout to her husband. Her husband felt very uncomfortable and decided to change his wife. At last, Kate became a good wife by her husband's effort.
The performance was very wonderful. The actors from GCA all did good jobs. After the performance, many people took photos with them. I love the performance very much. I can feel the wonderful art of Shakespheare through the performance. If i have chance, I want to take part in this kind of activities too.

On March 7th, we had the Nanjing Foreign Language School foreign language festival and I uuuuuudanced with other 6 girls. The dance spec we danced was reggae. Reggae is the sexiest type of dance in the street dance.
The dance was very difficult and we practiced for a very long time. Although we practiced for a long time, we still felt very nerves. We encouraged each us. We put our hands together and shouted:’ Win! Win! Win!!!’ Soon, the time for our show came. We walked to the middle of the stage together. We smiled to each other when the familiar music started. Under the bright lights, we tried our best to show the dance. I felt very nervures when I was dancing. I even did not know what I was doing. I just dance without thinking. Fortunately, I had no mistake, because we had practiced it for so many times. I didn’t know how many people were looking at me, but I kept smiling to every one. I can just thought about it at that time. When we finished dancing, people started to clap their hands. Many people were taking photos of us. In front of all the people, I felt so happy that I even cry.
I learned how wonderful success is. When I stood under all the lights, I didn’t want to give up it. I knew I love it. I know if I want to be successful, I must pay. Success is only for the person who has prepared. I will try my best to get everything I want.

I went to the Mochou Road church with my friend Ding Yanqiu. My planning teacher told us there would be a worship to celebrate Christmas. I was interested about Christianity, so I went to it. When we got there, there were a lot of people in the front of the church. I saw a lot of old people. There were also students and teachers from GCA in the church. I saw Ms. Beeth and Ms.Bartell. There was a big stage in the front of the church and a rostrum on the right side of the church. There was a big Christmas tree in the church and there was the Chinese of ‘Emanuel’ on the middle of the front wall. The meaning of ‘Emanuel’ is god is with us.
The celebration includes some songs, performance and the Bible readings. Some songs need us to stand up and sing together. The songs were very melodious and pleasant. However, it was not easy for me to sing it because they were English songs and that was my first time to see them. The performance was my favourite part of the worship. The performance was about the birth of Jesus. An angle told Mary she would have a baby and the baby would called Emanuel. Jesus was the baby. When Jesus borned, three people came to celebrate his birth from the place where far away from there. They all gave Jesus some gifts. The performance was very wonderful and I enjoyed it very much. I knew how Jesus was borned vividly. It was more interesting than read an article about it. The Bible readings were the most boring part of the worship, because it was English and very long. I could not understand it and it made me drowsy.
When I set there, I could feel positive attitude of life, sincere way of life, broad-minded and wishes of ambitious pursuit of happiness. Finally, I know why there are so many people are Christians.

volunteer activity work 2
On May 1st, I worked in ‘Seven Street Women club’ as a volunteer for ten hours with Elva. That is a place for women to do SPA and Yoga. There are teachers and they will teach you how to make yourselves be more beautiful and health.
We got up very early in the morning that day. Then we made up to make ourselves look more mature. We got to the club at 9 a.m. and then we put on the uniform. The uniform is a small suit. It is dark brown and made of linen.
In the morning, we stand at the foreground to be receptionists. My work was answering the calls from the clients and taking notes of what they said. Most clients call us to reserve. I always say:”Hello, this is Seven Street Women Club. Can I help you?” politely. After answering several calls, I felt a little bit annoying. It was boring to speak the same words. However, I had no choice but did it. I learned how to control myself from this work. At home, parents always let me to do the things I like, so I did not know how to let myself to do the things I do not like before. Now, I know how to do the things I dislike. I told me that this was the things I had to do and I had no choice. I tried my best to find interesting from it. I can learn how to talk with the people with different personal characteristics and learn how to let them be satisfied. That was an interesting thing and also important to my future. I want to be a fashion design and have my own company. To run a company is very difficult and need to communicate with lots of kinds of people. I must accumulate experience from now.
After lunch, the manager changed my work, because in the afternoon, there will be more clients but fewer calls. I did some beauty for the clients. I need to maintain clients’ facial skin. First, I helped them to clean their faces. Then, I put some moisturizer and whitening cream on their faces and then massage their faces. After massage, I need to put some fresh-keeping film on their faces. The fresh-keeping film have to be put on everywhere of their faces and tightly attached to the faces. That was a very difficult thing, because the faces are not flat. I have to be very careful and patient. That was a job which can train people’s willpower. I felt very annoying when I could not put the fresh-keeping film on their faces flatly. However, that was also a class I have to take. I want to be a fashion designer, so I need to draw a lot of design drafts in the future. I must face to some problems when I drawing the drafts, but I have to be careful and patient and keep drawing.
I learned a lot during my work in Seven Street Women Club. I knew how to communicate with different people and let them be satisfied. I also learned how to control myself and be more careful and patient. It’s very important in my future. I love this experience. I will work there again.
